Understand integrations
Plugins, skills, and MCP expand what Aru can do—from creating documents and automating routines to using calendars and repositories.
Plugins, skills, and MCP
| Feature | What it provides | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Plugin | A package of related capabilities, which may include skills and tools. | Add document or presentation creation. |
| Skill | Instructions and a workflow for a specific kind of work. | Write reports, analyze spreadsheets, or build presentations. |
| MCP | A connection to information and actions in an external service. | Read calendar events, search issues, or retrieve meeting records. |
They can work together—for example, retrieve meeting notes through MCP and format them as a report with a document skill.

Choose a feature
- To create a document or presentation, use a plugin.
- To follow a specific method or standard, use a skill.
- To use information from a calendar, repository, or other service, set up an MCP connection.
Use a connected feature
Once it is ready, request the work in a new task.
List this week’s events from the connected calendar and organize them by date. Do not change any events.
Available actions depend on the feature and your account permissions. For changes to real data, state the target and whether Aru should ask before execution. See Permissions and approvals.
If a feature is visible but unavailable
Check that it is enabled, authenticated, allowed in the current organization, and available to the current project. Organization-provided features follow organization policy. User MCP connections and imported skills may have their own project scope.
