Skills

Skills give Aru instructions and workflows for specific work, such as writing a report in a standard format or analyzing data by defined rules.

Browse and install skills

Open Skills from navigation. Use Settings → Skills to manage installed and imported skills.

  1. Review the name and description.
  2. Open the details.
  3. Select Install when needed.
  4. Confirm it is enabled for the current project.
  5. Select Try it now, or choose it from the / menu in the composer.

Search skills and Organization Catalog with skill descriptions and Install buttons

Enable or disable a skill

Change its switch in Settings. Choose a project in the location selector to inspect project skills. Disabling a skill does not cancel work that already used it. For plugin-owned skills, also check the plugin.

Import a skill

  1. Open Skills and select + → Add user skill.
  2. Choose whether the Destination is system-wide or a project.
  3. Select Choose folder or Choose ZIP file.
  4. Review the result and enabled state.

Add skill with Destination, Choose folder, Choose ZIP file, and Cancel

The Add button under Settings → Skills opens the same dialog. System skills are available to multiple projects; project skills are scoped to one project. A skill folder includes SKILL.md and optional references. Review overwrite prompts when a skill with the same name exists. If folder selection is unsupported, use a ZIP.

Use a skill

Select Try it now or choose a skill from the / menu, then add sources and the desired result.

Summarize this week’s work in the selected skill’s format. Separate completed, in progress, and next week, and save it to results/weekly-report.md.

Select the skill explicitly when its instructions are required, then verify the result.

Remove a skill

Use Remove skill in the details for a skill you imported. Confirm its name and location and keep the source if needed. A skill that needs an external service also requires a working MCP connection.
