Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Provide source material and a format to create Word reports, Excel workbooks, and PowerPoint presentations. Enable the Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations plugins first.
Check the tools
- Open Plugins.
- Confirm that the document plugin you need is installed and enabled.
- If it is disabled, enable it under Manage installed.
Return to the project and type @ or open Add files and more to choose a plugin. Confirm its name, then specify the sources and format.

If a plugin is unavailable, check installation and organization catalog access. See Plugins.

Word documents
Request DOCX for reports, proposals, and memos. State the title, audience, sections, and length.
Use
materials/project-notes.mdto create a status report for my manager. Include progress, issues, and next week’s plan, and save it toresults/status-report.docx.
For revisions, name the file and scope: “Change next week’s plan to a table by owner. Keep the rest unchanged.”
Excel workbooks
Request XLSX for structured data, calculations, and charts. Define columns, formulas, units, and sheets.
Organize the attached monthly sales data as XLSX. Keep source and analysis sheets separate, and include monthly totals, month-over-month change, and a chart. Save it to
results/sales-analysis.xlsx.
State whether values should be fixed or formula-driven. Check ranges, blanks, date and currency formats, and formula references.
PowerPoint presentations
For PPTX, define the purpose, audience, slide count, and key message.
Turn
results/status-report.docxinto a six-slide team presentation. Give each slide one key message and supporting evidence. Save it toresults/status-report.pptx.
For revisions, name slide numbers and elements. Attach logos, images, and brand colors when required.
Preview and final review
Open generated files in Aru and identify sections, sheets, cells, or slides in revision requests. Preview does not reproduce every Office feature. Check fonts, page breaks, formulas, charts, and effects in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint before sharing. Use a new filename to preserve the source, and confirm that the file was actually saved.
