Considerations

Considerations

When using Lingo, some features can appear differently depending on the meeting type, browser permissions, and calendar connection status.

Microphone permission

To use Microphone or Mic + Screen in an in-person meeting, the browser needs microphone permission.

If microphone permission is denied, Lingo cannot receive audio and cannot start meeting recording. Follow the on-screen guidance to allow microphone permission in the browser or device settings, then try again.

Screen Audio

Screen Audio and Mic + Screen are available only when the browser supports screen audio sharing.

When selecting a screen or tab, also select the browser’s audio-sharing option so Lingo can recognize sound played from the screen. If you do not select the audio-sharing option, the screen may be shared but the sound may not be recorded.

Joining remote meetings

Remote meetings support Zoom, Google Meet, and MS Teams meeting URLs. If the meeting URL is invalid or unsupported, Lingo may not be able to join the meeting.

If the meeting has a waiting room, the Lingo status can be shown as Awaiting host approval. In this case, the host must admit Lingo before recording and speech recognition can proceed.

Real-time translation

To use Enable Real-time Translation, you must first select at least one Source Language. You can select up to three source languages.

When real-time translation is enabled, you can view the original text and translation together during the meeting. If translation is not needed, you can turn it off and keep only the transcript.

Supported languages

The same languages can be selected for meetings and Real-time Interpreter.

  • Korean
  • Japanese
  • English
  • Thai
  • BetaVietnamese
  • BetaChinese (Traditional)
  • BetaChinese (Simplified)
  • BetaEstonian
  • BetaSpanish
  • BetaGerman
  • BetaFrench
  • BetaPortuguese
  • BetaItalian
  • BetaIndonesian
  • BetaFilipino
  • BetaMalay
  • BetaCantonese

The language code for Filipino is fil-PH. It can be selected for meetings, Real-time Interpreter, audio file uploads, and Custom Keywords.

Real-time Interpreter

Real-time Interpreter works by holding the microphone button while speaking and releasing it to play translated speech. Keep holding the microphone button while you speak. If the utterance is too short or there is too much background noise, speech may not be detected.

Leaving the Real-time Interpreter screen does not always end an active session immediately. To finish interpretation completely, select End in the top-right corner.

If the organization does not have enough credits when starting Real-time Interpreter, Not enough credit is shown and interpretation cannot start.

See Real-time Interpreter for the full workflow and troubleshooting steps.

Lingo AI

Lingo AI generates answers from the meeting transcript. Incomplete recognition or unclear speaker labels can affect its answers, so verify important decisions and dates against the original transcript.

To focus a question on specific content, select and attach the relevant utterances. See Lingo AI for details.

Calendar events

The Calendar screen shows only events that have meeting URLs among connected Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook events. Events without meeting links are not shown because Lingo cannot join them.

If calendar authorization expires or sync fails, events from that calendar may not be shown. In this case, select Reconnect from Settings or Calendar to authorize again.

Public sharing

When you turn on Public sharing link on the meeting detail screen, anyone with the link can view the shared meeting without signing in.

If needed, set Add password and Link expiration together. A shared link with a password can be opened only by users who know the password, and the link cannot be accessed after the expiration time passes.

Sharing within an organization

Sharing within an organization is available only to active members of the same organization. If a user cannot find a meeting shared with them, make sure they selected the correct organization in Lingo.

When Share with entire organization is turned on, every member of the current organization can see the meeting in their meeting list. Check the sharing scope before enabling this option for meetings that contain confidential information.

Audio file uploads

Supported audio formats are MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC, and AAC, with a maximum file size of 500MB. Transcription can fail even with a supported extension if the file is damaged or its codec cannot be read.

The file is transferred from the browser tab where the upload was started. Closing or refreshing that tab before the upload finishes may interrupt the transfer. After transcription starts, processing continues even if you navigate away or close the tab.

Importing keywords

Importing keywords replaces the current list with the contents of the file. Export the current keywords as CSV or JSON before importing if you may need to restore them later.

Changing languages during a meeting

Language changes apply only to speech after the save. Earlier speech is not translated again, and captions can be delayed while recognition restarts. A removed language stops being translated for all participant and shared screens.

Participant translation languages

Viewers can select a translation language when the meeting creator enables this option for a meeting with real-time translation. Each viewer’s selection applies only to their connection and does not change the meeting’s configured languages.

Earlier speech is not translated again automatically. It remains in the original language when no translation already exists.

Personal tags

Personal tags belong to one user. A tag placed on a shared meeting is not visible to its owner or other viewers. Deleting a tag removes only the classification and keeps the meeting.

AIP Agents and files

AIP Agent functionality is available in all production environments. The available AIP Agents and the tasks they can perform depend on the current organization’s AIP configuration and permissions. Meeting records and attachments can contain sensitive information, so select only the AIP Agents needed for the task.

Attachments and AIP Agent result files cannot be opened after the expiration time shown on screen. Attach the source again or request a new result.

Organization permissions

Owners and Admins can manage other Admin and Member roles and organization keywords. Members can view the member list and organization keywords but cannot edit them. Invite or remove members and change the Owner in AIP.

MCP file operations

A complete transcript file can be downloaded through MCP only after a meeting ends, and its returned link expires. MCP audio upload is asynchronous; wait until get_session reports audio.state=done before reading the transcript.

Insufficient credits

If the organization has insufficient credits, you cannot start a meeting or use Real-time Interpreter, AI Summary, or Lingo AI. In this case, Insufficient credits is shown on the screen, and you need to add credits before trying again.
