Create deliverables

Aru can analyze source material, create files, and show interactive visualizations in the conversation. Define the purpose and format, then refine the result in the same task.

What to include in a request

ItemExample
Purpose and audienceWeekly performance report for a team meeting
SourcesAttached meeting notes and sales files in materials/
FormatDOCX report, XLSX analysis, or PPTX presentation
Content and lengthDecisions, owners, due dates; five slides
Save locationresults/weekly-report.docx
Review stepShow the outline before writing the body

Ask Aru to clarify missing sources or calculation rules, and state when source files must remain unchanged.

Documents, Presentations, and Spreadsheets in the composer menu

Basic workflow

  1. Choose a project for source files and results.
  2. Attach or name the source files.
  3. Confirm that the required plugins and skills are enabled.
  4. Request the deliverable.
  5. Open and review the generated file.
  6. Request revisions in the same task.

Create an internal report from the attached meeting notes. Show me the outline first, then save the approved report to results/meeting-report.docx.

Creation tools

Built-in document plugins provide skills for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint work. Check them under Plugins, and select a plugin or skill in the composer when needed. See Plugins and integrations for the differences between plugins, skills, and MCP.

For images, see Generate and edit images. Image features must be available in your organization.

For a chart or screen mockup you can interact with, or a Mermaid diagram you want to inspect at a larger size, see Visualizations and diagrams. Interactive visualizations appear in Aru Desktop.

Review the result

Open the file from the response or Files panel. Verify claims, values, formulas, and source accuracy. For design changes, name the page, slide, or cell.

The table on slide 2 is too small. Split it across two slides and increase the font size.

Preview may differ from the final Office app. Check files in the app you will use before sharing.
