Considerations

When using Lingo, some features can appear differently depending on the meeting type, browser permissions, and calendar connection status.

Microphone permission

To use Microphone or Mic + Screen in an in-person meeting, the browser needs microphone permission.

If microphone permission is denied, Lingo cannot receive audio and cannot start meeting recording. Follow the on-screen guidance to allow microphone permission in the browser or device settings, then try again.

Screen Audio

Screen Audio and Mic + Screen are available only when the browser supports screen audio sharing.

When selecting a screen or tab, also select the browser’s audio-sharing option so Lingo can recognize sound played from the screen. If you do not select the audio-sharing option, the screen may be shared but the sound may not be recorded.

Joining remote meetings

Remote meetings support Zoom, Google Meet, and MS Teams meeting URLs. If the meeting URL is invalid or unsupported, Lingo may not be able to join the meeting.

If the meeting has a waiting room, the Lingo status can be shown as Awaiting host approval. In this case, the host must admit Lingo before recording and speech recognition can proceed.

Real-time translation

To use Enable Real-time Translation, you must first select at least one Source Language. You can select up to three source languages.

When real-time translation is enabled, you can view the original text and translation together during the meeting. If translation is not needed, you can turn it off and keep only the transcript.

Calendar events

The Calendar screen shows only events that have meeting URLs among connected Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook events. Events without meeting links are not shown because Lingo cannot join them.

If calendar authorization expires or sync fails, events from that calendar may not be shown. In this case, select Reconnect from Settings or Calendar to authorize again.

Public sharing

When you turn on Public sharing link on the meeting detail screen, anyone with the link can view the shared meeting without signing in.

If needed, set Add password and Link expiration together. A shared link with a password can be opened only by users who know the password, and the link cannot be accessed after the expiration time passes.

Insufficient credits

If the organization has insufficient credits, you cannot start a meeting or generate an AI Summary. In this case, Insufficient credits is shown on the screen, and you need to add credits before trying again.
